As with previous entries in the series the player must navigate Dizzy the egg through the perilous world while solving puzzles to progress. Wonderful Dizzy is designed by The Oliver Twins and is inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Dizzy Panic! was a puzzle game similar to Tetris, which involved moving a wall left to right so that falling shapes can pass through the appropriately shapes holes in the wall.
