The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is an action-adventure game developed by Daedalic Entertainment. The game, set in the fictional world of Middle-earth created by J. R. R. Tolkien, takes place in between the events of The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. The player controls Gollum through a series of locations, such as Cirith Ungol, Barad-dûr, and Mirkwood, as he attempts to find Bilbo Baggins and retake the One Ring whilst battling and avoiding Sauron. The Lord of the Rings: Gollum released on 25 May 2023 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The game was a commercial failure and received negative reviews from critics. It was ranked by Metacritic as the worst game of 2023.

Pokémon Shield is a role-playing game set in the Galar region, a fictional land inspired by the United Kingdom. Players control a young Pokémon Trainer who catches and trains creatures called Pokémon, battling other trainers in turn-based combat. The game introduces the Dynamax and Gigantamax mechanics, which temporarily transform Pokémon into giant forms with enhanced abilities. Progression follows the traditional Gym Challenge structure, requiring players to defeat eight Gym Leaders before competing for the League Championship. The game features an open Wild Area with free-roaming Pokémon, cooperative raid battles for up to four players, and camping activities. Players take the role of a professor at Garreg Mach Monastery, where they teach and guide one of three student houses. Gameplay combines turn-based battles, character development, exploration, and relationship-building.

The Elder Scrolls VI is an upcoming single-player action RPG from Bethesda Game Studios, serving as the sixth main entry in The Elder Scrolls series and the follow-up to 2011's Skyrim. The game is built on Creation Engine 3 and entered active production in 2023 following the completion of Starfield. Director Todd Howard has described the project as aiming to be the "ultimate fantasy-world simulator." The game's setting and story details remain undisclosed. It will release exclusively on Windows and Xbox platforms.

GreedFall is a single-player action RPG set in a fictional world inspired by 17th-century Baroque Europe.
