Gears of War is a third-person shooter built around a cover system, where players duck behind obstacles and use tactical fire to advance on enemies. The signature weapon is an assault rifle fitted with a chainsaw bayonet, and a timed reload mechanic can grant a brief damage bonus or jam the gun if mistimed. The five-act campaign can be played solo or in two-player co-op, and a competitive multiplayer mode supports up to eight players split between the two factions. It was the first game in the Gears of War series and helped popularize the modern cover-based shooter, later receiving remastered versions.

Resistance 2 delivers an unprecedented console gaming experience with a standalone eight-player, class-based online co-op campaign and 60-player online competitive multiplayer. Killzone Liberation is the sequel to the PS2 game Killzone. New to the franchise is the top-down/third-person perspective, instead of the PS2's first-person pure FPS approach. During the action, you can switch to a tactical overview to plan your actions. The screen zooms out and the actions are slowed down, while icons pop up to show the different actions and objectives. The game comes with a full range of Ad Hoc settings for multiplayer, with co-op and competitive play modes included, such as Deathmatch, Assault and Capture the Flag for up to six players.
