Sengoku Musou 4: Empires is the third Samurai Warriors Empires title. The gameplay will focus more on strategy as in other Empires expansions, with players issuing commands and taking suggestions to and from their subordinate military officers. Samurai Warriors 4-II serves as the game's base for featured characters, action, and visuals. The overall concept is to present "the ultimate Warriors conquest simulator". In a response to fan feedback, this game will reuse qualities from the first Empires title. Developers from the Nobunaga's Ambition series have worked on the simulation parts of this game. No new playable characters are appearing, but the number of character events are heightened throughout the game.

Samurai Warriors: Katana is an action video game set in feudal Japan and is based upon the Samurai Warriors series. The game is played with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk attachment, and the action is seen from a first-person viewpoint. In battle, the player character is equipped with one melee weapon (such as a sword or spear) and one ranged weapon (such as a bow and arrow or cannon). The player can freely switch between melee and ranged weapons during combat. Attacks are performed through either pressing the attack button on the Wii Remote to attack single enemies, or motion-based attacks that can damage groups. The game also includes a competitive multiplayer mode for two players. Outside of combat, there are running sequences where the player must swing his/her arms with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk in hand to simulate the arms pumping in a running motion. Horseback riding is also included, with the Wii Remote performing the function of the reins while the Nunchuk is used as a whip.
Samurai Warriors 3: Empires is the second standalone expansion of the 2009 game Samurai Warriors 3. Like the other Empires expansion, the game is more focused on the political and tactical battle system. The game features a different version of Historical Mode and Free Mode that fits with the Empires structure and retains the edit character feature.

Z is the third installment of the Warriors Orochi series, a crossover video game of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors series. Musou Orochi Z was intended to be a combination of the first two games with more characters and stages on an updated gaming platform. The game was released in Japan for PlayStation 3 on March 12, 2009 and released on Microsoft Windows platform on November 27, 2009. Koei had planned to release the game as Warriors Orochi Z in North America and Europe, but those plans have since been cancelled.
