Tyrian

Tyrian is an arcade-style vertical scrolling shooter. The story is set in 20,031 where you play as Trent Hawkins, a skilled fighter-pilot employed to fight Microsol and save the galaxy. OpenTyrian is a port of the DOS shoot-em-up Tyrian. Jason Emery generously gave the OpenTyrian developers a copy of the Tyrian 2.1 source code, which has since been ported from Turbo Pascal to C. The port uses SDL, making it easily cross-platform.

Tyrian 2000 is an updated rerelease of the original Tyrian. Tyrian is an action killing, smashing, shoot'em'all arcade game. Your goal is to kill as many enemies as possible and finish the level, buy more weapons and then kill many more enemies. Your battle ship can be improved over time and you can buy new weapons currently available. Your ship supports front guns, rear guns and side slots for the most deadly weapons.

Tyrian is a scrolling shooter computer game developed by World Tree Games Productions and published in 1995 by Epic MegaGames. The game was officially released as freeware in 2004, and the graphics were made available under an open license in April 2007. Tyrian was programmed by Jason Emery, illustrated by Daniel Cook, and its music composed by Alexander Brandon and Andras Molnar.
