Ash, a skeletal rabbit and the prince of Hell, has inherited the role of ruler of Hell from his father. After a photographer takes a picture of Ash playing with a rubber duck in the bathtub, Ash sets out to kill the 100 monsters that have seen the photo, to restore his image. The world of Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit has several zones with different visual styles, including "haunted caves, science labs, casinos and spaceships full of talking animals". The player navigates these zones by traveling on a large buzz-saw-like circular blade that can cut through the environment, can fire a variety of projectile weapons, and is equipped with a jetpack. Ash is assisted in his quest by his butler, Nestor, a top hat-wearing Octopus.

Plants vs. Zombies is a tower defense game in which players protect their suburban home from waves of approaching zombies by placing various plants on a grid-based lawn. Each plant has a unique defensive function, from shooting projectiles to blocking or exploding, while different zombie types require specific strategies to defeat. Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee is the first game set in the fictional Oddworld universe. A few stages involve Abe riding a large animal known as Elum. Abe's only special power is chanting, which he can use to stun certain enemies for a while or possess them. When Abe possess an enemy he gains his abilities: for example, possessing the body or a ferocious Slig allows the player to shoot from his machine gun, communicate with other creatures of his kind, and even commit suicide, clearing the way for Abe.

Cuphead is a run-and-gun action game focused primarily on boss battles. Its visual style is modeled after 1930s cartoons, using traditional hand-drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings. Players control Cuphead or Mugman in single-player or local co-op, traversing themed worlds, acquiring new weapons, and unlocking super moves. The game includes both boss encounters and side-scrolling platforming stages.
