In this arcade companion game to Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 and the second arcade installment of the Mario & Sonic series. As with the Nintendo Switch version, the game takes place in Tokyo, Japan, home of the 2020 Summer Olympics, and features events from both 2020, as well as 2D Events from the 1964 Summer Olympics, which were also held in Tokyo.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is the fifth installment of the Mario & Sonic series. Unlike previous games, this game was officially licensed by the International Olympic Committee for the 31st Summer Olympic Games and taking place in the host city Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. The game contains two new game modes, Golf and Rugby along with twenty new characters, ten from the Mario series, ten from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.

Mario Kart Wii is a multiplayer-oriented racing game for the Wii, and the sixth main installment in the Mario Kart series. It takes place at the Vancouver Winter Olympics of 2010. Like the previous game, the 27 events are presented as motion-based mini-games. Aside from the main events there are a series of Dream Events that have enhanced features and visuals. Some of the events can optionally be played using the balance board peripheral. Events include for instance skiing, snowboarding, bobsleigh, ice hockey, figure skating and more. The games can be played individually or in a festival mode that spans 17 days.
