NBA Live 99 is EA Sports' NBA release for the 1998–99 NBA season. Some of the major additions in Live 99 include Practice Mode and multi-season play featuring player development between seasons. Although it did not feature free agency or generated rookies, it would turn out to be the forerunner to Franchise Mode. Live 99 shipped with 1997-98 season rosters due to the NBA lockout of 1998–99 putting a hold on player movements and rookie signings during the summer of 1998.

NBA 2K2 is a basketball video game. It is the third installment in the NBA 2K series of video games and it was developed by Visual Concepts and published by Sega Sports. It was released on October 24, 2001 on the Sega Dreamcast and later ported to the Sony PlayStation 2, Nintendo GameCube, and the Xbox in 2002. NBA 2K2 featured more street courts such as Mosswood, Fonde Rec Center, Venice Beach, etc. The game still featured the old street courts like in the previous game NBA 2K1. NBA 2K3 is a basketball video game released on October 7, 2002 for the Nintendo GameCube, October 8, 2002 for the PlayStation 2, and October 9, 2002 for the Xbox. It was published by Sega and developed by Visual Concepts. It is a part of the NBA 2K series. Again, like the previous games, Allen Iverson of the Philadelphia 76ers is the cover athlete. This is the last game in the series to be released for GameCube and the fourth installment in the series overall.

Pro Evolution Soccer 2 (known as World Soccer: Winning Eleven 6 in Japan and World Soccer: Winning Eleven 6 International in North America) is the second instalment of Konami's Pro Evolution Soccer football video game series. It was the final version of NBA Live released for the Super NES, Genesis and Sega Saturn.
