The special Target edition of the game has exclusive extended content and features that consumers won't be able to find anywhere else, including the Target Mountain – an entire mountain environment found only in the Target edition. Gamers will also be able to take advantage of exclusive jibs and additional scenes. Additionally, players will be able to cozy up in the game's virtual version of the Target Chalet, the real-life mountainside home where Shaun and his fellow Target athletes hang out with friends and family at the annual Winter X Games in Aspen, Colorado. Among other exclusive features, the Target Chalet is the only indoor environment anywhere in the game.

Do you own runs on mountains populated by real gamers, or join your friends for a quick session from anywhere in the mountains. More than just snowboarding: Have fun with your friends on and off the board: Throw snowballs, hike to access secret spots, film your friends doing crazy tricks. You can also upload your videos online to share with the world. Ride your way: Express yourself through tricks, riding styles, and highly customizable avatars both in single-player and in the online world. There are six mountains in Shaun White Snowboarding, including Alaska, Park City, Europe and Japan. Each mountain features up to three different sections: peak, back country and park (or resort). There is also a special version of the game only available from Target which costs more. This version gives the player access to Target Mountain, an exclusive mountain with Target branding all over it; this mountain has been described as extremely difficult to find. The last mountain comes in with the "Mile-High pack", downloadable content for the game. It is called B.C. It is set in British Columbia (Canada). While you progress through the game you will earn abilities that will help you throughout the game. Some of the abilities consist of gaining high speeds or the ability to break through obstacles to progress further in the game. The Wii edition of the game, Shaun White Snowboarding: Road Trip was developed from the ground up for the system, taking full advantage of the Wii Balance Board accessory and featuring its own unique storyline and adventure with Shaun White.

Snowboarders have never felt welcome on Mt. Garrick, a once quiet and peaceful ski resort. Chief O' Leary, the resident ranger, has led the charge against boarders and limited their access to certain sections of the mountain. But the situation has progressed. Chief O'Leary has mysteriously closed the summit to all boarders and is trying desperately to drive them off the mountain.
