In the chaos following the Emperor's death, Commander Iden Versio led the elite Inferno Squad to see that the rebellion was met with retribution. In the end, the inferno of the Imperial order was extinguished, giving way not to anarchy... but to peace. Peace that ended with the rise of the First Order. It's in this time of conflict, that Star Wars Battlefront II: Resurrection takes place, Iden Versio is contacted when the Corvus is found abandoned on Pillio. She returns in search of answers. Her search unveils a First Order conspiracy leading into the timeline of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

It all starts with choosing a side. On December 5, you’ll have an opportunity to align with the First Order or choose to fight for the Resistance. Your choice is important, as it will allow you to take part in special challenges that will grant your faction specific rewards. Things kick into high gear on December 13. Your favorite stormtrooper-turned-hero Finn joins the fight for the Resistance and Captain Phasma steps on to the Battlefront for the First Order. They can be purchased with in-game Credits from that week. Whichever faction is victorious in completing the most challenges that week will net a reward as well: a special Crate of high-power upgrades for Finn or Captain Phasma. New locations and vehicles will also arrive. On December 13, the cinematic content from Star Wars: The Last Jedi continues with a new planetary map: Crait. The Starfighter Assault map of D'Qar will join as well, plus a new hero ship – Tallie Lintra's RZ-2 A-wing. Poe Dameron’s T-70 X-wing is also upgraded with a new ability inspired by Star Wars: The Last Jedi . Iden Versio returns. In Star Wars Battlefront II Resurrection, you’ll join Commander Iden Versio during the days of the First Order’s rise to power. These new chapters of Star Wars Battlefront II’s single-player story mode will be available December 13. Your choice of faction will continue to matter. Throughout December, you'll see your chosen faction's progress reflected in-game, as you fight alongside allies from around the world to swing the tide of battle.

Star Wars Battlefront II is a first- and third-person shooter set across all three eras of the Star Wars saga. Players engage in large-scale ground and space battles using class-based soldiers, reinforcements, vehicles, and iconic heroes or villains from the franchise. Multiplayer modes span maps drawn from locations across the films, while a single-player campaign follows an original story set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The game launched in 2017 amid a major loot box controversy that led to the removal of microtransactions and a complete overhaul of its progression system, after which it received years of free content updates that substantially expanded its offerings.

In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, the Chinese, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the game’s 30+ vehicles to engage in major conflicts with over 64 players in some of the largest online battles on the PC. Additionally, persistent character growth allows players to rise through the ranks and attain the ultimate rank of General.

Killzone is a sci-fi-themed first-person shooter. The game's stand-out feature is the ability to control any of the four different protagonists, each with his or her own strengths and weaknesses. Up to sixteen players could compete in the online multiplayer portion, which includes eight maps and six modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Assault, Defend and Destroy, Supply Drop, and Domination. The online servers of the game have now been closed down.

The two games are very similar, as both revolve around troopers from various factions fighting in different locales. Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron is an all-new project in the Battlefront saga exclusively for the PlayStation Portable, designed to offer an all-new storyline in the single-player mode and extremely robust PSP multiplayer options. The story in this game follow the previously secret "Renegade Squadron" that was made up of the galaxy's toughest scoundrels. As the plot unfolds, players will learn how Han Solo recruited and assembled his team and used their many talents for missions in Korriban's Valley of the Sith, the rocky remains of Alderaan, and the fiery ashes of the volcanic planet, Sullust. Frontline is a first-person shooter where players take control of the protagonist player character in a first-person perspective where they fight through levels set during the Second World War against the Wehrmacht using historical weaponry of the era, performing a series of military operations. Briefings take place at the start of each mission, which advance the plot and introduce new characters. Each mission is structured through a number of linear levels, each with differing locations, levels of action and styles of gameplay. Initially the player character begins on the frontlines during D-Day backed up by other computer AI-controlled soldiers with an emphasis on fast action-orientated gun-based gameplay. As the story progress however, the player character is sent on a variety of other missions including a number of covert and undercover operations in locations such as military based, German-occupied towns and manors, submarines and countryside settings. The player character is tasked with objectives during levels that range from infiltration, espionage, rescue and recon. Because of the variety between missions and locations, gameplay also changes pace. While many missions involve Allied assaults on German targets others include elements of stealth and exploration. For example one selections of missions has the player detach from an allied raid to infiltrate a German U-Boat in order to get to a secret facility while another has them rendezvous and sneak into a German headquarters in disguise to rescue an operative. Many missions are performed solo yet some include an AI companion for backup. Health is determined by a health bar that can be replenished using a selection "medikits" found throughout levels with varying degrees of effect. During missions, players can earn medals by the end of each level be meeting requirements such as completions of objectives, eliminating an amount of enemies and maintaining a percentage of health throughout, all represented by a bronze, silver or gold star.

Having placed their previous online shooters in WWII, the Vietnam War, and modern day settings, Battlefield 2142 took place in a future where a new ice age had thrown the world into a panic. The soil not covered by ice can only feed a fraction of the Earth’s population, and players choose to fight for one of two military super powers in an epic battle for survival: The European Union or the newly formed Pan Asian Coalition. Introducing a futuristic art style, science fiction weaponry, and the asymmetric game mode Titan, Battlefield 2142 still has a hardcore following that doesn’t want to leave the future behind.
