Stones of power are given to some chosen fighters, who are being trained by a master to defeat the master's darker tendencies of destroying humanity. The fighters do not necessarily get along even as the world heads toward peril.
The year is 2017. In 1999, a monster earthquake devastated the entire Kanto region of Japan, thereby forcing Tokyo to move its government to a man-made island of about 115 square miles floating in Tokyo Bay. A central computer controls public safety, traffic, and all other governmental functions on the island. In the middle of the island, there is a huge school called the National Belnar Institute with over 105,400 students. This institute has yielded a number of excellent graduates worldwide. For some reason, unspeakable acts of evil have become increasingly common on this artificial island, in spite of the fact that it is supposed to be under the complete control of the central computer. Strangely enough, the incidents all began after a new principal was assigned to the National Belnar Institute. Some people suspect that this was somehow related to the immeasurable evil that was spreading throughout the island. Now, a man by the name of Isato Kaiza has brought a stone that crystallizes fighting energy called the Kaizer Stone to the National Institute, to stand against the overwhelming evil as the Burning Hero Gowcaizer...

The player moves Chimena around the world map to different locations, where visual novel-style events may occur with other characters, furthering the story and often leading to a fight. Apart from the main "Chimena's Story", additional stories focusing on other characters are unlocked as the game progresses. There are also a number of other modes. Original Mode is an arcade-style mode that forgoes the story in favor of a string of opponents that must be defeated. Psychic Force 2012, the sequel to Psychic Force, is a one-on-one fighting game with a twist. The matches take place inside a giant floating cube. You are able to fly, using your psychic abilities, around a 3D arena with six walls. Each of the ten available characters, Might, Regina, Wendy, Emilio, Setsuna, Patty, Gudeath, Genshin, Carlo, and Gates, are controlled with three buttons: guard, weak attack and strong attack. The effect varies with the distance. Next to the regular life meter, there is also a power meter. By using special moves, the meter is drained and your moves are limited. It is possible to recharge, and the capacity of the power meter expands when you lose a lot of health. Additionally, each fighter has its own unique moves, energy attacks and a weapon, which they use, mid-flight, to pummel their opponent. There are three main game modes: training, versus and a story mode using static anime-inspired images and in-engine cut scenes to tell the story. The story centers around two groups of psychics with differing ideals about co-existence with humans. In the middle of this are several neutral psychics with ties to members in either group.
