Challenger Pack 8 was revealed to be Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII at The Game Awards. The character could be unlocked early, by players who had purchased the DLC or Season Pass, by defeating Sephiroth in an in-game challenge mode only available for the 5 days before release. "Sephiroth, armed with his ruthless Masamune sword and a desire to destroy, joins the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game as a part of the Fighters Pass Vol 2 DLC! This silver-haired swordsman is Cloud’s arch nemesis and one of the most iconic villains in gaming. Don’t be fooled by his chillingly calm demeanor, Sephiroth can deal some white-hot damage."

The Hero from the DRAGON QUEST series joins Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable fighter! Wielding the Supreme Sword of Light and a trusty shield, he can slice his foes and block incoming attacks. When Hero pulls up his Command Selection screen, he’ll have access to a random selection of spells that could turn the tide of battle in his favor! This pack also includes the Yggdrasil’s Altar stage, which sweeps across nearby areas around the sacred Tree of Life, as well as a selection of music from the DRAGON QUEST series.

Banjo & Kazooie join the battle! The missing piece of the puzzle has been found, as Banjo & Kazooie are joining the battle as a playable fighter! Pikmin Finder is a mobile browser AR game created to promote Pikmin 4.The gameplay involves looking around to find sprouts, plucking them, and sending those Pikmin to find treasures. A strong launch or direct attack can shatter the walls and ceilings, allowing for opponents to get KO’d.
