The game is the third in the Marvel Super Hero Squad franchise, acting as the sequel to two video games Marvel Super Hero Squad and Marvel Super Hero Squad: The Infinity Gauntlet. It was released on November 15, 2011 for the uDraw GameTablet, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii game systems. Based on characters from Marvel comic books such as Thor and Iron Man, Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat revolves around Doctor Doom and his minions planning to find a way into the real world to steal the uDraw GameTablet and use it to take over the comic book universe.

Silver Surfer is a shooter game, with some levels taking place vertically and some horizontally. The Surfer's only ability is to move around on the screen and to shoot directly in front of him. Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 is a Lego-themed action-adventure video game developed by Traveller's Tales. It is the sequel to 2013's Lego Marvel Super Heroes and the third instalment of the Lego Marvel franchise. With the core gameplay following the same style of past Lego titles, the game features the ability to manipulate time and a four-player competitive Super Hero battle mode.
